Ekadashi: Today is Kamida Ekadashi, fasting on this day will fulfill all wishes: Kamida Ekadashi is called Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Sawan. Lord Shridhar is worshiped on this day. On this day, after bathing in the morning itself, Lord Vishnu should take a bath of Panchamrit and offer it to Bhog. After this, aarti should be performed by worshiping God with incense, lamp, sandalwood, naivedya and basil. Fasting on this day fulfills all desires and liberates you from sins like Brahmana.
What is the Story of Kamida Ekadashi
In ancient times, a Thakur lived in a village. He was very angry. One day, on that matter, that angry Thakur got into a fight with a Brahmin. As a result, he was killed at the hands of Brahmin Thakur. That Thakur of a Brahmin killed at his hands wanted to do thirteenth (Kriya). But all the Brahmins refused to take part in that action and take food. Then Thakur requested all Brahmins – ‘Bhagavan! How will my sin be removed? ‘ On this the Brahmins said- ‘You fast on the Ekadashi (Kamada Ekadashi) of Krishna Paksha of Shravan month and worship Lord Shridhar and provide food to Brahmins. Only then your sins will be repented. ‘
Why Celebrate Kamida Ekadashi
Thakur fasted and worshiped Lord Shridhar with devotion and pure heart as he said. At night, while he was sleeping near the idol of God, God appeared to him and said – ‘O Thakur! The sin of your bravery has been dispelled. Now you can do the thirteenth (verb) of that Brahmin. Sutak is finished from your house. That Thakur did according to the orders of God and was absolved of the sin of brahmacharya and after spending a happy life finally went to Vishnu Loka.
