Dussehra 2019: CM Nitish burnt Ravan of evil, BJP leader did not reach: Durga Puja 2019: Dussehra ended on Tuesday with Vijay Dashami. After this, preparations for immersion of idols of Maa Durga have started. On Tuesday, Ravana slaughter program was organized in entire Bihar including Patna. The main event in Patna was held in the evening at Gandhi Maidan. Ravana was killed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The absence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in this important event was noted.

Earlier on Monday, the statue of Ravana made for the program fell. However, by late night he was again brought to the stand. In Patna, in view of the tragedy of water logging in Patna, this time Ravana slaughter program was celebrated with simplicity. Fireworks also decreased.

Ravan killed in Patna Gandhi Maidan late evening

Ravana slaughter program was organized all over Bihar on the occasion of Dussehra. A 75-foot effigy of Ravana was built in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan. The effigies of Kumbhakarna and Meghnad were also 70 feet and 65 feet respectively.

Late in the evening, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the program and killed Ravana at Gandhi Maidan.

Lord Rama’s army left the Youth Hostel at around 4:30 pm to join the program. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reached Gandhi Maidan at around 4.45 am. Ashok Vatika was built in Gandhi Maidan itself. In the program, tableaux of various episodes of Ramayana (scenes of Lanka Dahan, Meghnad and Kumbhakarna slaughter etc.) were shown.

In the end, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar fired an effigy of Ravana with an arrow. With this, the entire ground resonated with Jayashreeram.

13 gates of Gandhi Maidan opened together

Security was tight in the Ravana slaughter at Gandhi Maidan. After the Ravana combustion, the 13 gates of the grounds were opened simultaneously, so that people could easily exit the grounds after the program.

Russian artists performed bhajans

The Russian artists performed hymns this year at Gandhi Maidan during the Ravana slaughter ceremony. Apart from this, artists from Buxar pulled out a grand tableau Gandhi from Patna Yuva Awas.

BJP leaders absent from the program

BJP leaders were not seen in the program. In its earlier programs, all the prominent leaders of the ruling parties had been participating. The BJP is a partner of Janata Dal United (JDU) in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government of Bihar. In such a situation, it is a big deal for him not to participate in the program.
