International Tiger Day 2019: Number of tigers that can increase in Madhya Pradesh:
Madhya Pradesh is expected to increase the number of tigers this year. The department estimates that the tiger population in the state can reach around 400. The International Tiger Day is going to be celebrated on July 29 and it is possible to issue the details of the number of tigers on this occasion. The details of the calculation of tigers are released every four years. The previous count was done in the year 2014.
Madhya Pradesh was once recognized as the ‘Tiger State’. According to Forest Department officials, due to the tiger conservation work done in the last few years, this figure could increase this year. The number of tigers increases by 30 to 35 percent. If the state remains the same, then the number of tigers is estimated to be around 400.

Forest Minister Umang Singhar also believes that the tiger population has been good and the incidence of hunting has also decreased, so the increase in the number of tigers is possible.
More than 141 tigers have died in the last seven years in the state. The worst was in 2010. At that time there used to be 257 Tiger in the state. After that, attention was given to tiger conservation in the state, which led to an increase of about 20 per cent in 2014, causing the tiger population to reach 308. This time, the number of tigers is estimated to be higher than the previous period.
Wildlife experts also believe that a lot of work has been done in the direction of tiger conservation in Madhya Pradesh. Efforts have been made to settle the displaced persons of the sanctuary and national parks, as well as efforts made by the state in tiger reconstruction.
