Chandigarh: Ram Rahim ask again for parole, High Court orders to jailer:
On behalf of the rapist Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insa has once again applied for parole in the Punjab-Haryana High Court. This time, Harimit Kaur, wife of Ram Rahim, has filed a petition in the High Court seeking a parole for her husband. The application states that Ram Rahim’s 85-year-old mother Naseeb Kaur is ill.

The High Court first heard Harjeet’s plea and after this, the superintendent of Rohtak jail has heard the order of deciding on the representation in the case of parole. The High Court has clearly said that if the jail superintendent feels that the benefit of parole cannot be given to Ram Rahim, then the matter will be referred to the concerned department.

While hearing in the journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati murder case, 4 people including Gurmeet Ram Rahim were convicted by a special CBI court in January 2019. All of them were sentenced to life imprisonment. Earlier Gurmeet Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in the Sadhvi sexual abuse case. A fine of 50 thousand was also imposed on all the culprits.
