Alert in J&K: LPG storage orders for two months in Kashmir amidst ongoing tension from China, know the reason
The administration has ordered all oil companies in Kashmir to ensure reserves of LPG for at least two months, amid tension over the Line of Actual Control in East Ladakh. At the same time, another order has been asked to hand over some schools of Ganderbal to the administration to accommodate the security forces. The Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir is bordered by the Kargil district of Ladakh. Although the administration has cited the preparations before the Amarnath Yatra and the monsoon rains, these orders have raised people’s ears.
Omar Abdullah raised questions
National Conference Vice President and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has questioned these orders and said that the government should clarify the situation. The first order has been issued by the director of the Kashmir division of the Food and Supplies Department. In this, he referred to a meeting with the State Coordinator (Co-ordinator) of the Indian Oil Corporation on June 23 with the advisor of Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu to ensure adequate supply of LPG in the Kashmir Valley.
The first such order in the summer season
Actually, landslides on the highway cause trouble every time. The advisor had directed in the meeting that all oil companies should ensure that there is no shortage of LPG gas in Kashmir for at least two months. This type of order is issued for the first time in the summer in Kashmir. Usually such orders are issued before the onset of winter, when the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is closed due to snowfall.
Referred to stop supply due to rain
Simranjit Singh, secretary of the Department of Food and Supplies, says that the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is closed during the monsoon rains, which makes it difficult to deliver essential goods. One month stock available. We have only asked oil companies to keep reserves for another month. There is nothing more than this.
Instructions to clear the schools
The second order is that of Ganderbal’s SSP Khalil Poswal. He has asked the School Education Department to hand over the buildings of Middle School, Higher Secondary School and IIT to the administration. For this, it has been cited that during the visit of Shri Baba Amarnath, security forces personnel will be appointed. At the same time, it is going to be seen that no decision has been taken yet on the Amarnath Yatra. If the journey takes place then its duration will be very short. That is why this order of SSP is important and has many counts.
Don’t add to war
Ganderbal’s SSP Khalil Poswal has termed it as wrong to link the matter to the war with China. He says that every year there is an exercise in the routine regarding the Amarnath Yatra. Every year Central Security Force personnel are appointed in schools in this district. Despite these two orders, there is confusion among people along with the politics in Kashmir. People have started thinking that the government is not preparing for war.
