Speaking to the media, Minister of State for Home Reddy said, ‘We have constituted a committee for survey of schools closed in Kashmir Valley and they will be reopened. Nearly 50 thousand temples have been closed in the last few years, some of which have been destroyed and ruined statues. We have issued an order to conduct a survey of such temples.
Let me tell you that after the beginning of the period of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir in the 90s, a large number of Kashmiri Pandits were forced to flee from the valley. The terrorists massacred Kashmiri Pandits and damaged many temples as well. Many temples in the state were closed after the Pandits fled. There are many famous temples among them. Now the government is preparing to open all the temples along with settling Kashmiri Pandits in the valley.
