Jammu and Kashmir: Section 144 will be applicable from 6 am in Jammu, school-college closed: A decision has been taken to implement section 144 in Jammu also from 6 am on Monday, amid the possibility of some important decision regarding the state. Deputy Commissioner of Jammu district Sushma Chauhan has said that section 144 will be implemented from 6 am on August 5, which will continue till the next order. After Section 144, more than four persons can not be gathered in one place. The order has also been issued to keep mobile internet off in Jammu.
Meanwhile, the Jammu district administration has asked the administrators of all schools and colleges to keep them closed as a precautionary on Monday. Sushma Chauhan said on Sunday night, “All private and government schools and colleges have been advised to remain closed as a precautionary measure”.
Jammu University spokesman Vinay Thusu has said that the university will remain closed on August 5. The examinations to be held on 5 August have been postponed. New dates will be announced later.
Increased security in jammu and Kashmir
Officials said that this step has been taken in view of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, where the deployment of security forces has been increased manifold in view of the threat.
He said that earlier the security has been tightened by deploying additional paramilitary forces including the Rapid Action Force (RAF) in the Jammu region, especially in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
School and Collage closes in Kathua
Kathua DC Raghav Langar has said that the decision to keep all the schools and colleges and educational institutions in the district from August 5 has been decided. All private and government institutions will remain closed till further orders.
