JK: passengers get relief on cancellation of train tickets, not given an extra charge on cancellation ticket: For passengers traveling from Jammu and Kashmir, the Railways has decided that no cancellation charge will be taken from the passengers till Tuesday morning. According to sources, the Railways has waived the fee for cancellation of tickets for passengers traveling from Jammu and Kashmir for the next 48 hours.
The news agency PTI quoted sources in the Ministry of Railways as saying that no cancellation charge will be taken from the train passengers till Tuesday morning. Passengers who went on the Amarnath Yatra of the government advisory are canceling their tickets on a large scale at Jammu, Katra and Udhampur stations. Because they have to return to pilgrims before the scheduled time.
Sources said that an order has been issued in this regard, the Center for Railway Information System (CRIS) needs to be updated so that this facility can be available from 8 am to Tuesday.

This decision of the Railways has come in the wake of the Jammu and Kashmir administration, in which Amarnath pilgrims have been asked to leave the pilgrimage in the middle, citing the emergency situation. Earlier, Air India had announced a waiver of cancellation fee for rescheduling or cancellation of tickets for all its flights from Srinagar till 15 August.
