Bangalore: Despite all kinds of awareness campaigns in the country, the poison of caste is still intact. Recently, a victim of this has been a Dalit MP of BJP. BJP MP from Karnataka A. Narayanaswamy has been barred from visiting Mandar, a village in Tumkuru. The Yadav community is more in this village and Narayanaswamy belongs to the Dalit community. The incident took place on Monday in Parmanahalli village in Tumkuru district. Narayanaswamy, MP from Chitradurga Lok Sabha constituency, had gone to the village to know the problems, so that a blueprint for development works could be prepared. They wanted to build a road construction and drinking water unit in the village, but had to return. Nagraj, a local citizen said, ‘We have an old tradition. There is a long history here, so the people of the village said that the MP should not be allowed to enter the temple. Expressing grief over this incident, BJP MP Narayanaswamy said that I was deeply saddened that I was not allowed to enter because of being a Dalit. I went to listen to their problems and see other basic facilities. The police is investigating the matter taking cognizance of it. Actually, BJP is the only government in the state.
