Beed Collector Imposed A Fine Of Rs 5000 On Himself, Know What Is The Reason : Beed: Maharashtra’s Beed district collector Aastik Kumar Pandey on Monday admitted a penalty of Rs 5000 on his own for accepting the mistake of his department on the use of plastic cups. In fact, the press conference was called to inform the withdrawal of nomination for Maharashtra Assembly elections in the Collector’s office. According to media reports, plastic cups were used to serve tea to journalists during this period.
Meanwhile, a journalist questioned the collector for giving tea in plastic cups, citing plastic ban in the state. After this, Collector Pandey took the matter seriously. The employees removed the plastic cups. Collector Pandey said that, we failed, after this, Collector Aastik imposed a fine of Rs 5000 on himself. “We have failed to fully implement the plastic ban,” he said. Maharashtra has a complete ban on single-use plastic products.
Not only this, to bring awareness among the people, the Election Commission has also banned it. During the assembly elections, no candidate will be able to use single use plastic in his campaign. This is the second incident related to plastic ban violation in Beed Collector office within eight days. Actually, earlier a candidate had brought rupees in polythene for filing nomination.
