Where the JHI scores in 2005 and 2010 were 38.9 and 32 respectively. JHI score was 30.3 between 2010 and 2019. According to the report, the share of underweight children with small height in India increased from 16.5 percent in the period 2008-2012 to 20.8 percent in 2014-2018. Only 9.6 percent of all children between 6 and 23 months are able to get the right food.
The report states that India has improved indicators like mortality, underweight and undernutrition. Not only this, citing the Central Government’s Swachh Bharat program in the report, it has been said that even after the construction of new toilets, open defecation is still not completely closed.
