Interpol will organize a general meeting in India in 2022, this is the program :  New Delhi: Interpol is going to organize a general meeting in India on the occasion of Platinum Jubilee, the 75th year of India’s independence. The event is going to be held in 2022. Earlier in the year 1997, Interpol General Assembly has been held in India only once. According to officials, during the visit of Interpol Secretary General Jurgen Stock to India in August, Union Home Minister Amit Shah submitted a proposal to him in this context.

Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization) is an intergovernmental organization with 194 member countries including India. The headquarters of Interpol is located in Lyon, France. It was established in 1923 as the International Criminal Police Commission and started calling itself Interpol in 1956. India became its member in the year 1949. This year, the General Assembly concluded in Chile on Friday. India won the voting held for the General Assembly on the closing occasion.

After this it was decided that Interpol’s 91st General Assembly would be held in 2022 at the Platinum Jubilee of India’s independence. CBI Director Rishi Kumar Shukla proposed to host India during his brief address at the ongoing 88th Interpol General Assembly in Santiago, Chile. After which the member countries voted overwhelmingly in favor of the proposal to host India. The Indian delegation includes the DGP of Madhya Pradesh and the Police Commissioner of Delhi.
