Supreme court’s big decision, calling girl a ‘call girl’ does not provoke suicide : New Delhi: The Supreme Court, in an important decision, has given relief to the boy and his parents in the matter of calling the girl a ‘call girl’. The apex court has said that mere calling a ‘call girl’ cannot be held responsible for abetting the accused to commit suicide. 15 years ago, a boy’s parents called his girlfriend a ‘call girl’, after which his girlfriend committed suicide.

In this case of suicide, a case was registered against the boy and his parents for abetting suicide. Justice Indu Malhotra and R R Subhash Reddy said in their judgment that the use of ‘abusive’ language was the reason for the suicide committed by the girl. The judges said that a word that has been said in anger, which has not been thought through, cannot be seen as provocative.
