HARYANA AND MAHARASHTRA ASSEMBLY ELECTION DATES CAN BE ANNOUNCED TODAY
New Delhi: The dates of the assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra can be announced today. The Election Commission held a meeting on this yesterday i.e. at 4 pm on Friday. The meeting reviewed the conditions there for the upcoming elections in both the states. After this, there is a possibility that the election dates for Maharashtra and Haryana may be announced on Saturday. Another state where assembly elections are to be held at the end of this year will be announced after the elections in these two states. Elections in Jharkhand are likely to be held at the end of the year i.e. December. Because the term of the Legislative Assembly is ending in the first week of January. A senior Election Commission official said polling in both states could take place before the festival of Diwali in the third week of October. But this time the election process will be completed within 30 days instead of 45 days. It can be understood in this way.
The 2014 assembly election dates were announced on 12 September and the voting came on 15 October and the results on 19 October. This time if the announcement is made in this week, the voting will be declared in the third week of October and thereafter and the results will be declared by the end of October. Assembly elections for 288 seats in Maharashtra and 90 seats in Haryana are to be held by the first week of November.
