It is noteworthy that Uttar Pradesh government has earlier changed the name of Allahabad railway station to Prayagraj, Mughalsarai to Deendayal Upadhyay station. At the same time, Faizabad has been renamed Ayodhya and Banaras has been renamed as Varanasi.
Professor Sugam Anand of the university’s history department says that the university has received a letter from the government in this regard.
