Amit Shah Said – Depriving People Of Development Violated Human Rights : New Delhi: Union Home Minister and BJP President Amit Shah while addressing an event on the 26th Foundation Day of the National Human Rights Commission said that human rights should not be confined to police excesses and the scope of death in custody. It needs to be redefined in the Indian context. At the same time, Shah said that keeping the public from basic needs is also a violation of human rights.
Recalling Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary, Amit Shah said that if we put before each person the meaning of one sentence of ‘Vaishnav jana to tene kahi ..’, there can be no charter for human rights. He said that we all want Gandhi ji’s principle to be relevant in context from today, because he is eternal and unwavering. Shah explained how human rights of children, women and human rights systems are already embedded in our country and society.
Within our family system, many rights of women and children are protected without law. Stating that the Indian context needs to be redefined by the Indian context, he said that our culture, our country, our society is a country with a feeling of Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam above narrow thinking for years.
