The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully entered Chandrayaan-2 into the first orbit of the moon today i.e. on Tuesday. ISRO scientists entered Chandrayaan-2 into Moon’s orbit LBN # 1 between 8.30 am and 9.30 am. Now Chandrayaan-2 will rotate in an elliptical orbit with 118 km apogee (less than the moon) and 18078 km perigee (more than the moon) for the next 24 hours. During this time, the speed of Chandrayaan was reduced from 10.98 km per second to about 1.98 km per second.

The speed of Chandrayaan-2 has been reduced by 90 percent so that it does not fall under the influence of the moon’s gravitational force. The entry of Chandrayaan-2 into the lunar orbit on Tuesday, August 20 was extremely challenging for ISRO scientists. However, our scientists completed it with great efficiency and accuracy. On September 7, Chandrayaan-2 will land on the south pole of the moon. Chandrayaan-2 was launched from rocket Bahubali from Sriharikota Launch Center on 22 July. Earlier on August 14, Chandrayaan-2 was put in the Trans Lunar Orbit. It is expected that on September 7, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will see Chandrayaan-2’s landing on the moon’s south pole live.

By September 1, Chandrayaan-2 will change its orbit around the moon four times.

LBN # 2– Chandrayaan-2 will be placed in a class of 121×4303 km between 12.30-1.30 pm on 21 August.
LBN # 3– Chandrayaan-2 will be put into orbit 178×1411 km between 5.30-6.30 am on 28 August.
LBN # 4– Chandrayaan-2 will be placed in a class of 126×164 km between 6.00-7.00 pm on 30 August.
LBN # 5– 01 September 06 between 6.00-7.00 pm Chandrayaan-2 will be placed in an orbit 114×128 km.
On September 2, Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover will be separated from the vehicle

After changing the orbits around the moon four times, Vikram Lander will exit Chandrayaan-2. Along with Vikram Lander, Pragyan Rover will also break away from the orbiter and start moving towards the moon. On September 7, Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover will land on the moon’s south pole after two rounds of the moon.

ISRO chairman said – now Chandrayaan’s speed will have to be reduced

ISRO Chairman Dr. K. Sivan said that Chandrayaan-2 will pass through a rigorous examination while going to Moon’s orbit. The gravitational power of the moon lasts for 65000 km. In such a situation, the speed of Chandrayaan-2 will have to be reduced. Otherwise, under the influence of the Moon’s gravitational power, it can also hit it. To reduce the speed, the onboard propulsion system of Chandrayaan-2 will be operational for a while. During this time, even a small lapse can make the vehicle uncontrolled. This will be the test of time not only for Chandrayaan-2 but also for scientists.

Chandrayaan-2 does not hit the moon, so speed will be reduced

The impact of the moon’s gravitational force is up to 65,000 kilometers. That is, the moon can pull any object coming up to this distance from the moon. On Tuesday, 20 August, Chandrayaan-2 will be 65,000 km away from the moon, about 150 km away, then ISRO will start reducing the speed of Chandrayaan-2. With this, he will enter the moon’s orbit, struggling with the gravity of the moon.

May be the orbiter works for 2 years

It’s lander ‘Vikram’ and rover ‘Pragyaan’ will use it after landing on the lunar surface. However, the orbiter will do research by circling the moon throughout the year. According to ISRO scientists, after making all the changes in the moon’s orbit, the orbiter will have so much fuel left that it can work for two years. But all this will be decided after 7 September.
