China vs Taiwan: China threatens to attack Taiwan, gets such response, Violation of international laws
China vs Taiwan: China has threatened to attack Taiwan amid Corona epidemic. A senior general of China said he would be attacked if there was no other option to prevent Taiwan from becoming independent. To this, Taiwan said that threatening war is a violation of international laws. Li Xuocheng, a member of the Chinese Army’s Chief of Joint Staff Department and Central Military Commission, said on Friday, “If the possibility of peacefully integration ends, all necessary steps will be taken to thwart any secession plot.”
Li Xuocheng also said at an event in the Great Hall of the capital Beijing, “We do not promise to abandon the use of force and will keep options open for all necessary measures for stability in the Taiwan Strait.” On this statement, Taiwan’s China Affairs Council said, “Taiwanese citizens will never choose dictatorship and violence. The method of solving problems is not the use of force and unilateral decisions. Explain that Taiwan’s issue is very sensitive for China. He considers this island region his part. China has said many times before that Taiwan will be brought under its control if needed.
Significantly, China’s move comes after Donald Trump’s decision in which the US government informed Congress (Parliament) that it could potentially sell $ 180 million of advanced torpedoes to Taiwan. The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in the past that the US State Department has approved the sale of 18 MK-48 Mod 6 torpedoes and related equipment to Taiwan. The cost of the deal is said to be around $ 18 million. The agency had given this information to the Congress to get the necessary certificate for this possible sale.
