Fire in Australia’s Forest , more than 50 houses burnt, 13 firefighters scorched: Australia’s most populous state, New South Wales, was engulfed by a fire in the forests and more than 50 houses were partially or completely gutted. 13 firefighters trying to extinguish the fire have been scorched.
A week-long state of emergency was declared in New South Wales on Monday last week due to fire in the forest. On Tuesday, the fire broke out at 16 places, officials said.
The head of state, Gladys Berejiklian, said she was satisfied that there was not as much damage on Tuesday as was expected. Rural Fire Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons said that the condition of any firefighters in the fire was not critical.
