The governor said the Shiv Sena alliance has been given notice of the formation of the government in the state. He said he was given about 17 days.
The governor said that the Shiv Sena coalition government did not form the government and used the discretion of the governor. He said the Supreme Court had no jurisdiction to do this. The Supreme Court has the power to reinforce the government.
But people have suggested that they want government. The court was told that it was not wrong to form a government in the state. And no one has the authority to question the governor’s decision on Saturday. Article 361 reminds the governor that he has no authority to question the President.
Sunday is a holiday for the Supreme Court. But in view of the seriousness of the government’s formation in Maharashtra, the petition was accepted by the Supreme Court.
The bench headed by Justice NV Ramana, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice Sanjeev Khanna is investigating the case. Senior Lawyers Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Kapil Sibal, Shiv Sena and NCP have been hearing their arguments.
Senior advocate Devadat Kamat continued to make arguments on behalf of the Congress party. Attorney General KK Venugopal, on behalf of the Governor of Maharashtra, brought their arguments to the court. Senior counsel Mukul Rohatgi will hear arguments on behalf of the BJP in the Supreme Court.
