Asian Championship: Manu’s Golden Shoot, Deepak qualified for the Olympics: India’s shooter Manu Bhakar won the gold medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the 14th Asian Championships released here. In the same event before Bhaker, Deepak Kumar has won a bronze medal as well as a ticket to Tokyo O Olympic. The Sports Authority of India (Sai) gave this information on its official Twitter.

Bhaker won the gold medal by finishing first in the finals with a score of 244.3. This is India’s first gold medal in the championship. Manu has already achieved the Tokyo Olympics-2020 quota. Manu, a 17-year-old young shooter, won the Tokyo Olympics quota by finishing fourth in the women’s 10-meter air pistol event at the World Cup shooting tournament in Munich, Germany, in May this year.

China’s Qian Wang won the silver with a score of 242.8 and Wang’s compatriot Renxin Jiang won the bronze medal with 220.2. India’s Yashaswani Singh Deshwal finished sixth in the same event with a score of 157.4.

At the same time, the pair of Vanikpur and Manisha Keer won the gold medal in the mixed team event of the championship. The Indian pair won the gold medal to the Chinese pair 34–29 in the final.

Deepak gave himself a birthday gift for winning bronze

Earlier, on Tuesday, Deepak qualified for the Games Mahakumbh in 2020 with the bronze medal of the men’s 10 meter air rifle event on Tuesday. This is the 10th Olympic quota achieved by Indian shooters.

So far, China has won the highest number of 25 Olympic quota among Asian countries in shooting (rifle and pistol). Deepak, 32, performed brilliantly, making his birthday memorable. He scored a total of 626.8 in the qualification and finished third in the final. The Indian also performed well in the final and won the bronze medal.
