According to media reports, Pullela Gopichand started coaching at Gachibowli government stadium in 2003. At that time he had no money at all. During that time Parupalli Kashyap, PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, B.C. Star players like Sai Praneeth were junior players at that time.

Before the BWF Badminton World Championship, Gopichand has undergone strict discipline from PV Sindhu. Pullela Gopichand said that Sindhu did not have her phone during the last 3 months. First I will return his phone. I stopped her from eating sweet curd, which she loves. I also stopped them from eating ice cream, now she can eat whatever she wants.

Indian National Badminton Team Coach Pullela Gopichand won the All England Open Badminton Championship in 2001. He became the second Indian after Prakash Padukone to achieve this feat. Gopichand has received big awards like Arjuna Award in 1999, Dronacharya Award in 2009 and Padma Bhushan in 2014.
