New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has accepted the apology of wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik of the Indian team. The Board has given this apology in case of breaking the rules of the central contract. With this, the matter got repaired. The wicket-keeper batsman had violated the BCCI central contract by watching Shah Rukh Khan’s Caribbean Premier League match from the dressing room of the Trinbago Knight Riders. He was seen watching the match in Trinbago’s jersey in the dressing room. According to the central contract of the BCCI, Karthik, who played 26 Tests and 94 ODIs for the country, should have got approval from the board for this match. Being a central contract player, Dinesh Karthik cannot join any other franchise league other than IPL. It is clearly written in the Central Contract that they cannot join any private league and this rule also applies to all active first class cricketers. Karthik, while replying to the BCCI notice, put the blame for KKR coach Brendon McCallum.
