ICC ODI Championship: Shreyas Iyer said, I am ready to bat at any place in Indian National Cricket Team: The Indian team management is looking for a fourth-ranked batsman and Shreyas Iyer has said that he is ready to bat at any place.
Iyer, part of the Indian team that went on the West Indies tour, will have to face the challenge of players like Lokesh Rahul and Rishabh Pant in the next 2 ODIs on tour.
When asked about the fourth order which has been a problem for India for some time, Iyer said that we have no information. This is a completely management decision. I cannot go and say that I have to bat at number four and they keep me in this place, it is not so.
India could not find a permanent batsman at number 4 during their journey to the World Cup and the search would continue in the remaining 2 matches of the 3-match ODI series on the current tour. Iyer said in the pre-match press conference that the venue is vacant and perhaps they will try to give all the players a chance at this venue. At the moment no one is convinced about this place.
He said that personally I am not thinking of batting only at number 4. I want to be a player who is ready to bat at any place or you can be ready to take advantage of the opportunity in any situation.
Iyer, who has scored 2 fifties in 5 ODIs, has made it to the Indian team after a year and wants to take advantage of this opportunity.
