PAK vs SL: Sarfaraz Ahmed desperate to create history against Sri Lanka: Pakistan National Cricket Team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is very excited about the ODI and T20 series to be held with the Sri Lankan National Cricket Team. The first one-day international between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played at Karachi National Stadium on 27 September, for which Sarfaraz himself has appealed to the audience to watch the match. They are desperate to create history here.
Sarfaraz on Wednesday appealed to his countrymen to be present in large numbers at the Karachi National Stadium so that the world could see that cricket is still alive in Pakistan.
The captain of Pakistan cricket team said that I am captaining Pakistan team in bilateral series in front of my countrymen, which is the biggest opportunity of my career. I have not been able to wait for the match and hope that a large number of people will stand with me and encourage both teams. We will write history in Karachi, which will be our first series here after January 2009.
Due to the active terrorist activities in Pakistan, no country wants to play cricket here because everyone cares about their lives. This is the reason that Pakistan is hosting a one-day international cricket series for the first time since 2015.
International cricket in Pakistan has been virtually closed since the terrorist attack on the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on a Sri Lankan team bus in 2009 and has been playing in its domestic tournament in the United Arab Emirates since then. This is also the first tour of Pakistan by the Sri Lankan team, nearly 10 years after that incident.
The Sri Lankan team does not have many senior players in this tour of Pakistan. The Sri Lankan team, which reached Pakistan under the captaincy of Danush Shanaka, will play a 3-match ODI series in Karachi on 27, 29 September and 2 October, while the 3 T20 matches will be played in Lahore.
