T20: This batsman is second only to Gayle after scoring a century in T20: Australian batsman Michael Cleinger has reached number two in the T20 in terms of maximum century. He achieved this feat in the ongoing T20 Blast tournament in London.
The 39-year-old Clenger played an unbeaten 102-run knock off 65 balls against Kent playing for Gloucestershire. This opener will say goodbye to his 21-year career after this tournament. This is his eighth century in T20. He is behind Gayle who has 21 centuries in his name.
Cleinger is followed by Aaron Finch, David Warner, Luke Wright, Brendon McCullum, who have six centuries to their name. The ICC quoted Cleinger as saying, “I did not even know that I had completed a century, because the main score was 91 runs on the board.”
Michael Klinger has played three T20s for Australia, with his highest score being 62 and he has never played an international match for Australia after that. He has also played for the Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the Indian Premier League IPL.
