ISL-6: Bengaluru win with Sunil Chhetri’s goal, team reached second place: In the sixth season of the Indian Super League, played at their home Sri Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru FC defeated the Kerala Blasters (Kerela balsers) 1–0 on Saturday. Bengaluru captain Sunil Chhetri contributed once again in this victory, as the home team opened their account and scored the victory, keeping it in the 55th minute.

Second win of bangalore

This is Bangalore’s second win this season, while the Blasters’ third defeat. After the three points gained from this win, Bengaluru has moved to second place in five matches with nine wins and three draws. ATK also has nine points, but is ahead of Bengaluru in terms of goal difference.

No goal was scored in the first half

After the international break, the first half of this match played between these two rivals of the South ended in a goalless draw. This half however was full of action. Both teams made many good chances but luck did not suit anyone. Sergio Sidoncha made the first chance of the match for the Blasters. Sidoncha gave Rahul KP a pass at the right time, but his header was cleared by Harmanjot Khabra. In the 15th minute also the Blasters created a great opportunity, but captain Barthomolov Ogbeche could not score.

Three yellow cards

Bengaluru FC coach Charles Cuadart received a yellow card for objecting against the referee’s decisions in the 19th minute. In the 36th minute, the Blasters team managed to avoid a threat, while Rafael Messi of the Blasters missed an easy goal in the 42nd minute. With the start of the second half, the Blasters attacked again in which they failed. Bengaluru’s Khabra received a yellow card in the 53rd minute, while the Blasters’ Hakku was shown a yellow card in the 54th minute. After a minute of this yellow card, the Blasters received another blow.

Chhetri’s goal

Bengaluru captain Sunil Chhetri habitually scored for his team to give him a 1-0 lead. In the 55th minute, Bengaluru’s corner was taken by Dimas Delgado and the empty standing Chhetri dropped the ball into the net from the header and opened his account.

Blasters have increased problems

In the second half, like trouble with the Blasters, Choli-Daman was supported, as he got the second yellow card in the 66th minute. This time the referee targeted Messi B. Three minutes later, the visiting team had a chance to equalize. Rahul KP also hit the ball towards the goalpost which went out of the way and the Blasters did not score. In the 72nd minute, the referee added Sahal Abdul Samad to the troubles of the yellow card blasters.

Blasters reached seventh position

Blasters goalkeeper TP Rehneesh gave his team a relaxed breath. In the 74th minute, Rafael Augusto of Bengaluru targeted from the front of the goalpost, which Rehneesh did not allow Bengaluru to score the second goal with out his leg. Ultimately, the Blasters failed to score an equalizer and got their third defeat of the season, leaving them in seventh position in the table.
