UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2020: Union Public Service Commission gave this information regarding the date of IAS Prelims

UPSC Civil Services IAS Prelims Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), as per the information released earlier, for the candidates awaiting the announcement of the revised date for the Civil Services (IAS) Preliminary Examination (UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam) on May 20. The update was released, according to which the date of the prelims will now be reported on June 5. UPSC released this update on its official website, upsc.gov.in yesterday. According to the commission, the announcement regarding the examination will be made after evaluation of the situation.

Earlier on May 4, the Commission was scheduled to conduct the examination on May 31, but the Commission (UPSC) has decided to postpone the examination in view of the increasing infection of the corona virus. In this regard, the authorities had issued a notification informing the Commission that the examination was being postponed due to increasing infection of the corona virus. With this, the Commission had said that on May 20, ie tomorrow, the circumstances will be assessed once again. Only then a decision will be taken. However, the Commission had made it clear that candidates will be given time before the examination dates are announced so that they can prepare for the exam.

In view of the increasing transition, the Commission has not only postponed the Civil Services examination but also other examinations like UPSC NDA, NA Exam 2020 and CMS Exam 2020. Apart from these exams, UPSC has also postponed the Civil Services Examination 2019, because the result of UPSC 2019 Mains Examination is still pending. In such a situation, the Commission has also postponed the interview process.

Let us know that every year about 10 lakh candidates register for UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination. At the same time, around 1.6 lakh officers attend the examination at 2,500 centers. It is one of the most prestigious examinations in the country. The 2020 UPSC released this update on its official website yesterday according to which the date will be released after the evaluation of the situation.
